Our hotel in Poltava is located in the house, which was built in the late 18th and early 19th century. Novopetrovskaja street, which now bears the name of Gagarin, appeared in 1820 for the first time on the maps of the city. This is the place where the structure with modest facade in the style of a provincial Empire style, which was the color of the time, appeared.
Until the beginning of the twentieth century, the street was actively built up - Geodetic school, credit society and the first shop were built. The modern Poltava hotels will appear later in this area.
Novoproletarskaya street, and the house No. 12, where the "Central" hotel is located today, became just a residential building. During the Great Patriotic War, Poltava was badly damaged - the old city center burned down completely. But our building was lucky to survive. It is ironic, that a sign was affixed on its facade, indicating that the house No.12 was insured by the "First Russian Society for Fire Insurance".
In the postwar years, people lived here, then these walls housed a medical facility. Now there is one more hotel in Poltava - a cozy little guest house, whose doors are always open for you!

Our small homely and cozy hotel that is fully justifying its name - "CENTRAL" is located in the heart of the cozy Poltava in an old building built in the style of the provincial Empire, which history dates back to the early 19th century. After all, it is located at the crossroads of several central streets - Pushkin, Gogol and Gagarin, and it is very near to all sightseeing attractions - in the literal sense "around the corner".
And if you look into the hidden corners of historical Poltava, you can learn the real secret. Earlier Gagarina street was called Novopetrovskaya, and its history had been lasted from the beginning of the 19th century, when in 1820 it was first marked on the plans of Poltava.
In the post-revolutionary 1920s, the street was renamed to Novoproletarskaya in the spirit of those times, and during the Second World War, when Poltava was almost half destroyed and burned - only two houses, namely, house number 10 and house number 12 – the actual location of our hotel - had remained intact.
Perhaps this lucky circumstance was promoted by a plate covered with rust - a talisman fixed on the facade of the building indicating that the house number 12 is insured by the company "The First Russian Fire Insurance Society"? Maybe it is so...
No, most likely, this house is just very lucky!
After all, times and people have changed, it changed its purpose many times - at first people lived there, in recent years, there was a medical clinic within its walls for more than 10 years, and now it is time to serve people again with honor - now the building cordially opened its doors for the guests of Poltava, and it blows with the surprisingly positive energy, and we hope and believe that there will be many happy moments ahead of this ancient building that is thoroughly impregnated with history and located in the very center of our city.
Berezovy Square, which houses a granite monument to the great A.S. Pushkin is located just a few minutes’ walking from the hotel, and a few more minutes of walking - and you will get to Pervomaisky Avenue and Pobeda Park, perhaps the largest and the oldest one in our city, because its history began at the end of the 19th century, when this wonderful city garden was created at the initiative of mr. Kurakin, Poltava governor-general.
